Win7 is driving me crazy. The new 'library' feature sounds like a good idea, but it is not working for me.
I have taken a number of pictures from my hard drive, and burned them to CDs, deleting them from my hard drive. However, these pictures continue to be listed in the library even though they no longer exist on the computer. When I click on these 'pictures' in the library list in media player, nothing happens, and the thumbnails are generic logos, not a thumbnail of the actual picture.
However, Win7 will NOT allow me to delete these not-existant pictures from the library list. In the Start Menu/ Help and Support, type 'Libraries: frequently asked questions' in the search box and see what it says about file deletion from Libraries. Have you tried running the Disk Cleanup tool and ticking the check box for Thumbnails?
What name do these files have, do they relate to your old photos? Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Try it first by not checking either box (this will run it in a Read-only mode) to see if it flags any hard drive or file problems. If it does, restart it by ticking both boxes, and rerun it to allow it to attempt to fix any found problems. Have you tried manually cleaning out your Temp folder, you can do it by typing%temp% in the Start Menu RUN box. This will open your Temp folder, there you can delete everything that Windows will allow you to do so.
Do you ever reboot your system, or is it always on? Please continue any discussion in the appropriate Forum.
